Bank statements to Excel, for accountants
Clients send PDFs; your working papers need rows. Drop a year of statements at once, get one checked spreadsheet, and keep client data off third-party servers.
Twelve statements, one sheet
Drop all of a client's monthly PDFs together. Each file is read on its own and checked, then the All files combined tab joins them in date order with a File column, so every row can be traced back to its statement. The Excel file also has a Summary sheet with the opening and closing balance and the totals of each file.
Checked before you start
Each row is checked against the bank's running balance: previous balance ± amount = printed balance. Rows that do not add up are marked, so a misread line is caught on screen, not in a review three weeks later. When a statement has no running balance, the totals are compared with the statement summary instead.
Client confidentiality
The PDF is opened by your browser and never sent anywhere — there is no server copy to secure, retain or delete. That makes it easy to use under engagement letters and data-protection rules that restrict sharing client data with processors. See how this is enforced.
Fits your software
Download a real .xlsx (dates as dates, amounts as numbers), or a CSV with ISO dates and plain numbers that QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and most practice tools import. Choose separate in/out columns or one signed amount column.
Also for: bookkeepers, small business, mortgage brokers, tax preparers

Works with your bank
The converter reads the columns of almost any bank statement. These banks are tested on real statements.
Questions
Can I convert several clients' statements at once?
Yes, but convert one client at a time: the combined tab merges every file you drop, which is what you want for one account and not across clients.
Is there a page or file limit?
No. Large files are fine; a 100-page statement takes a few seconds on a normal laptop.
Is StatementEasy really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no page limit and no daily limit: convert as many statements as you need. Your own browser does most of the work, so a conversion costs us almost nothing.
Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?
Usually not. Your browser opens and reads the statement on your device, and for most statements nothing is sent to us except anonymous counts such as "a 3-page statement was converted".
A statement goes to our server only when your browser cannot read it — for example a scan or a photo — and it is deleted after reading. If even our server cannot read it, we keep it encrypted for up to 14 days to add support for your bank, then delete it. Details in our privacy policy.
Which banks does it work with?
Any bank whose statement is a normal PDF with selectable text. The reader finds the date, description and amount columns on its own. Layouts from Chase, Bank of America, Barclays, Lloyds, CIH Bank and Attijariwafa bank are tested on real statements, and the generic reader handles many others in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch and Italian.
How do I know the numbers are right?
Most statements print a running balance. StatementEasy checks every row: the previous balance plus money in minus money out must equal the balance printed on that row. You see a green "Balances match" when everything adds up, or the exact rows to look at when it does not.
Statements without a running balance are checked on totals: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.
What if my statement is a scan or a photo?
A scanned or photographed statement is read with text recognition (OCR). You can read it on our server, which gives the best result, or on your device. Clear, straight scans work best, and the balance check shows how well it went.
Can I convert several statements at once?
Yes. Drop several PDFs together. Each gets its own tab, and "All files combined" gives one sheet with a File column, for example a full year of monthly statements.
Which format should I pick?
Pick Excel if you will work in the spreadsheet: dates and amounts are real values, so sorting, filtering and formulas work right away, and a Monthly sheet totals each month. For accounting software, More formats has QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV, a QuickBooks Online CSV, OFX and QIF. Plain CSV works with Sage and almost everything else.
Something is wrong in my result. What can I do?
Click any cell to correct it, remove rows you do not want, or open "Columns look wrong? Fix them" to tell the reader which column is which. If a layout keeps failing, tell us the bank and we will add it.
