Convert a bank statement PDF to CSV
Get a clean CSV for QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or any accounting tool: one header row, one transaction per line, UTF-8 that opens correctly in Excel. Your PDF is read on your device.
- Checked every row against your balance
- Private read on your device first
- Excel & CSV plus QuickBooks, Xero and Quicken files
- Free no sign-up, no page limits
A CSV your accounting software accepts
The CSV has one header row and one transaction per line, with these columns: Date, Description, Money out, Money in and Balance. Switch to One amount (+/−) if your software wants a single signed amount column, where money out is negative.
- Dates default to
2025-01-31, which every tool reads the same way. You can switch to31/01/2025or01/31/2025before downloading. - Amounts are plain numbers with a dot for decimals and no thousands separator, for example
1250.00. - Encoding is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so accented names open correctly in Excel.

Using QuickBooks or Xero? There are ready-made files for them too: QBO for QuickBooks and a Xero CSV.

Questions
Is StatementEasy really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no page limit and no daily limit: convert as many statements as you need. Your own browser does most of the work, so a conversion costs us almost nothing.
Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?
Usually not. Your browser opens and reads the statement on your device, and for most statements nothing is sent to us except anonymous counts such as "a 3-page statement was converted".
A statement goes to our server only when your browser cannot read it — for example a scan or a photo — and it is deleted after reading. If even our server cannot read it, we keep it encrypted for up to 14 days to add support for your bank, then delete it. Details in our privacy policy.
Which banks does it work with?
Any bank whose statement is a normal PDF with selectable text. The reader finds the date, description and amount columns on its own. Layouts from Chase, Bank of America, Barclays, Lloyds, CIH Bank and Attijariwafa bank are tested on real statements, and the generic reader handles many others in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch and Italian.
How do I know the numbers are right?
Most statements print a running balance. StatementEasy checks every row: the previous balance plus money in minus money out must equal the balance printed on that row. You see a green "Balances match" when everything adds up, or the exact rows to look at when it does not.
Statements without a running balance are checked on totals: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.
What if my statement is a scan or a photo?
A scanned or photographed statement is read with text recognition (OCR). You can read it on our server, which gives the best result, or on your device. Clear, straight scans work best, and the balance check shows how well it went.
Can I convert several statements at once?
Yes. Drop several PDFs together. Each gets its own tab, and "All files combined" gives one sheet with a File column, for example a full year of monthly statements.
Which format should I pick?
Pick Excel if you will work in the spreadsheet: dates and amounts are real values, so sorting, filtering and formulas work right away, and a Monthly sheet totals each month. For accounting software, More formats has QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV, a QuickBooks Online CSV, OFX and QIF. Plain CSV works with Sage and almost everything else.
Something is wrong in my result. What can I do?
Click any cell to correct it, remove rows you do not want, or open "Columns look wrong? Fix them" to tell the reader which column is which. If a layout keeps failing, tell us the bank and we will add it.
