Convert a PDF table to Excel

Drop a PDF with a table: a price list, a report, an invoice or a statement. We find the columns, you move the lines on the page if needed, and you download a clean Excel or CSV file. The PDF never leaves your device.

Drop a PDF with a table
PDF with text (a scan works too, with OCR) · one file at a time
Read by your browser first. By choosing a file you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.

How it works

  1. Drop the PDF. Your browser reads the text and finds the table on each page.
  2. Check the lines. The page is shown with a line between each column and a line where the table starts and ends. Move them if a column is cut in two or two columns are stuck together.
  3. Download. The table below the page is what you get: an Excel file with real numbers and dates, a CSV, or a copy to paste into Google Sheets.

Why lines instead of guesswork

Most PDF to Excel tools guess the columns and give you a spreadsheet to clean up. A PDF does not store columns, only words at positions on the page, so any guess can be wrong. Here you see the guess on the page itself and fix it in a few seconds, before the file is made.

  • Long cells that wrap onto a second line can be joined into one row.
  • A header repeated at the top of every page is kept once.
  • Columns you do not need can be left out.

Converting a bank statement? The statement converter does more: money in and out, balance checks, and files for QuickBooks and Xero.

FAQ

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Your browser opens the PDF, finds the table and writes the Excel file on your device. Only anonymous counts reach us, such as "a 3-page table was converted". If the PDF is a scan, the text recognition also runs in your browser.

What kinds of tables work?

Any table made of text in a PDF: price lists, product catalogues, timetables, reports exported from software, invoices, payslips and bank statements. Tables over several pages work too, with the same column lines on every page.

The columns are wrong. What do I do?

Drag a line to move it, click (or tap) between two lines to add one, and use × on a line to join two columns. Above each column, choose whether it holds text, numbers or dates, or leave it out. The table under the page changes as you go.

Are numbers real numbers in Excel?

Yes, in columns marked “Number”: 1,234.56, 1.234,56, 1 234,56 and (12.00) all become numbers you can add up. Dates in columns marked “Date” become real Excel dates. Everything else stays text, exactly as printed.

Is it a bank statement?

Use the bank statement converter instead: it knows hundreds of banks, splits money in and out, and checks every row against the running balance.
