How Openbank statements are read

Layout: Fecha | Concepto | Importe | Saldo, one signed amount column.

  • The signed Importe is split into money out and money in; the Saldo checks every row.
  • Dates are read as day/month (for example 31/01); you can export them in any format.

Getting the PDF from Openbank

Typically: In the Openbank app or web, open the account, choose Movimientos and download the PDF. Menus change from time to time; look for “Statements” in online banking or the app.

Use the PDF statement itself, not a screenshot or a photo of a printout. A downloaded PDF contains the text, which gives exact results. Scans work with OCR (beta), but less reliably.

Questions

Does StatementEasy work with Openbank statements?

Yes. The real Openbank statement layout was tested: every transaction was found and the result matched the balances printed on the statement.

Is my Openbank statement uploaded?

Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server, and deleted after reading. A statement we cannot read yet is kept encrypted for up to 14 days so we can add support for it.

Can I convert a whole year of statements?

Yes. Drop all the monthly PDFs at once and use “All files combined” to get one sheet with a File column.

Is StatementEasy made by Openbank?

No. StatementEasy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Open Bank, S.A. (Openbank).
