Chase gives you a monthly PDF for every checking and savings account, but no way to download older months as a spreadsheet. If you need a year of transactions for your taxes, a mortgage application or your bookkeeping, you end up copying lines by hand. StatementEasy reads the Chase PDF directly and gives you a table with a date, a description, money in, money out and the balance for each transaction.
How to download your statement from chase.com
- Sign in to chase.com. Use a computer if you can: the full site makes it easier to pick several months.
- Open Statements & documents. You find it in the main menu, or from the account’s own page.
- Pick the account and the month. Each month is listed separately; Chase keeps several years of past statements online.
- Download the PDF. Click the download icon next to the statement. Repeat for every month you need — you can drop them all here at once.
In the Chase Mobile app the same statements are under the account, in the statements and documents section. Saving the PDF to your files works the same way.
What is inside a Chase checking statement
A Chase checking statement does not print one long list. It splits the month into sections, and each section has its own date, description and amount columns. StatementEasy reads each section and gives the amount the right side:
| Section on the statement | Where it goes in your sheet |
|---|---|
| Deposits and Additions | Money in |
| ATM & Debit Card Withdrawals | Money out |
| Electronic Withdrawals (ACH, Zelle, online bill pay) | Money out |
| Checks Paid | Money out, with the check number in the description |
| Fees | Money out |
| Daily Ending Balance | Skipped — it repeats balances, not transactions |
Chase’s ACH descriptions often run over two lines, with fields like Orig CO Name, Descr and Trace#. They are joined back into one description, so a payroll deposit or a utility bill stays on a single row. Dates are printed as MM/DD without a year; the year is taken from the statement period, including statements that run from December into January.
How the result is checked
The Checking Summary at the top of the statement prints the beginning balance, the total for each section and the ending balance. After reading, StatementEasy adds up what it found and compares it with those numbers. If one row is missing or misread, the totals no longer match and you see it immediately, before you export anything. This is the main difference with copy-paste or generic PDF-to-Excel tools, which give you a table but no proof that it is complete.
Chase CSV download or PDF statement?
From the account activity page, Chase lets you download recent transactions as a CSV file. That is handy for the last few months, but it only covers a limited period and the columns differ from the statement. For older months, for a lender who asks for “statements”, or when you want the numbers to match the official document exactly, convert the PDF statements instead.
What people do with their Chase transactions
- Taxes: drop the twelve monthly PDFs, choose “All files combined” and filter by payee or category to find deductible expenses.
- QuickBooks or Xero: export a QBO file or a Xero CSV and import months that the bank feed no longer reaches.
- Mortgage and loan applications: the Insights tab shows monthly income, recurring payments and large deposits a lender will ask about.
- Budgeting: the Categories and Recurring sheets show where the money goes and which subscriptions renew every month.

Questions
Can I convert a Chase credit card statement?
Yes, use the credit card statement converter. Card statements list purchases, payments and interest, so they are read with the card layout rather than the checking one.
Does it work with Chase business checking?
Chase Business Complete Checking statements use the same sections as personal checking and are read the same way.
Why is my Chase statement missing the year in each date?
Chase prints dates as MM/DD. StatementEasy takes the year from the statement period, so January transactions on a December–January statement get the right year.
Is my Chase statement uploaded?
Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server and deleted after reading. A statement we still cannot read is kept encrypted for up to 14 days so we can add support for it.
Is StatementEasy made by Chase?
No. StatementEasy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with JPMorgan Chase Bank.
