Without a balance per line, credits and debits are added up and compared with the printed final balance; the sheet also computes a running balance.
What your BanBif spreadsheet contains
Each row is one transaction: the date as a real date, the full description, money in and money out as numbers in separate columns, and the balance. Because BanBif prints no balance per line, the sheet’s balance is computed from the opening balance. A first tab summarises the period, the opening and closing balance, the totals and the result of the check; the Monthly, Categories and Recurring sheets come in the same download.
For businesses
Export OFX or CSV for accounting software and separate clients, suppliers and fees with the Categories sheet.
A totals check, worked through
With an opening balance of 2,000.00, credits of 3,500.00 and debits of 2,940.60, the final balance must be 2,559.40; any other printed figure shows the difference on screen.
About BanBif
BanBif (Banco Interamericano de Finanzas) is a mid-sized Peruvian bank with many business and personal customers. Its statement prints only the opening and final balance, so the check works on totals rather than line by line.
A typical month on a BanBif statement
Client payments in, supplier payments and payroll out, bank fees and taxes. For a business account, the Categories sheet separates those flows month by month.
