Access Bank statement to Excel
Turn your Access Bank statement of account into a spreadsheet in naira: every transfer, POS payment and charge on its own row, checked against the running balance.

An Access Bank statement can run to many pages: transfers in and out, POS and web payments, USSD airtime purchases, SMS alert charges, stamp duty and VAT on fees. Each line has a posted date, a value date, a long narration and an amount in the debit or credit column, followed by the balance. StatementEasy reads that table into Excel with the naira amounts as real numbers, so you can total, filter and sort in seconds.
How to get your Access Bank statement
- Sign in to Access Bank internet banking or the AccessMore app. Use the account you want the statement for.
- Open the statement option. It is in the account services or statements section.
- Choose the period. Pick the start and end date you need.
- Download or email the PDF. Save the PDF and drop it here.
Menus change between app versions; if you cannot find the option, your branch or the bank’s customer service can send the statement. Ask for a PDF file rather than a scan or a printout.
Charges you will find in the sheet
Nigerian statements carry small charges that are easy to miss in a PDF but add up over a year. Once converted, a text filter shows them all:
- SMS alert charges, usually once a month or per alert.
- Stamp duty or transfer levy on larger incoming transfers.
- Transfer fees and VAT on outgoing NIP transfers.
- Card maintenance and other account fees.
The Categories sheet totals them by type, so you see what your account really costs.
How the statement is checked
Every row is checked against the balance printed after it, and the totals against the opening and closing balance in the summary. Long narrations that wrap onto a second line — common for NIP transfers with the sender’s name and session ID — are joined into one description, so no line is counted twice or lost.
Statements for visas, loans and business records
Embassies, landlords and lenders in Nigeria and abroad often ask for six or twelve months of statements. They need the bank’s own statement — for visa applications usually stamped or sent by the bank. The spreadsheet helps you check it first: the Insights tab shows your average monthly inflow, recurring payments and large one-off deposits that the officer may ask about.
For a business, export the transactions to CSV or QuickBooks to prepare your books and your tax filings.

Questions
Can I convert a statement with several months?
Yes. A statement covering six or twelve months in one PDF is read as one list, and you can also drop several PDFs and combine them.
The naira sign does not show in Excel. Is that a problem?
No. Amounts are exported as plain numbers so Excel can add them up. Format the column as naira in Excel if you want the sign shown.
Does it work with Access Bank (formerly Diamond Bank) accounts?
Diamond Bank accounts became Access Bank accounts after the merger, and their statements now use the Access Bank layout.
Is my statement uploaded?
Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server and deleted after reading. A statement we still cannot read is kept encrypted for up to 14 days so we can add support for it.
Is StatementEasy made by Access Bank?
No. StatementEasy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Access Bank Plc.
