How Truist statements are read

Layout: Sections — Deposits, credits and interest; Other withdrawals, debits and service charges — with DATE | DESCRIPTION | AMOUNT($).

  • Each section decides the direction of its amounts.
  • Your previous balance and Your new balance check the totals.
  • Section totals are not counted as transactions.
  • Dates are read as month/day (for example 01/31); you can export them in any format.

Getting the PDF from Truist

Typically: Sign in to Truist online banking or the app, open the account, choose Statements and download the PDF. Menus change from time to time; look for “Statements” in online banking or the app.

Use the PDF statement itself, not a screenshot or a photo of a printout. A downloaded PDF contains the text, which gives exact results. Scans work with OCR (beta), but less reliably.

Questions

Does StatementEasy work with Truist statements?

Yes. The real Truist statement layout was tested: every transaction was found and the result matched the balances printed on the statement.

Is my Truist statement uploaded?

Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server, and deleted after reading. A statement we cannot read yet is kept encrypted for up to 14 days so we can add support for it.

Can I convert a whole year of statements?

Yes. Drop all the monthly PDFs at once and use “All files combined” to get one sheet with a File column.

Is StatementEasy made by Truist?

No. StatementEasy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Truist Bank.
