How TSB statements are read

Layout: Date | Payment type | Details | Money out | Money in | Balance, the payment type in its own column before the details.

  • Money out and Money in are read as such; the balance checks every row.
  • The Payment type column is kept with the description.
  • STATEMENT OPENING BALANCE and STATEMENT CLOSING BALANCE lines are not counted as transactions.
  • Dates are read as day/month (for example 31/01); you can export them in any format.

Getting the PDF from TSB

Typically: In TSB Internet Banking or the app, open the account, choose Statements and download the PDF. Menus change from time to time; look for “Statements” in online banking or the app.

Use the PDF statement itself, not a screenshot or a photo of a printout. A downloaded PDF contains the text, which gives exact results. Scans work with OCR (beta), but less reliably.

Questions

Does StatementEasy work with TSB statements?

Yes. The real TSB statement layout was tested: every transaction was found and the result matched the balances printed on the statement.

Is my TSB statement uploaded?

Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server, and deleted after reading. A statement we cannot read yet is kept encrypted for up to 14 days so we can add support for it.

Can I convert a whole year of statements?

Yes. Drop all the monthly PDFs at once and use “All files combined” to get one sheet with a File column.

Is StatementEasy made by TSB?

No. StatementEasy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with TSB Bank plc.
