CIBC statements list Date, Description, Withdrawals ($), Deposits ($) and Balance ($), framed by an Opening balance and a Closing balance line. Dates are short, like Mar 5, with the year in the statement period. StatementEasy gives every row its full date, keeps the opening and closing lines out of the transactions, and checks every balance in between.

Simplii Financial, CIBC’s direct bank

Simplii Financial belongs to CIBC and prints its chequing and savings statements in the CIBC layout. A Simplii statement is read exactly like a CIBC one, so you can convert both together if you hold accounts at each.

US dollar accounts

Many CIBC customers also keep a US$ account for cross-border shopping or work. Its statement uses the same columns with amounts in US dollars. Convert it on its own so Canadian and US amounts are never added together, and use the File column when you combine several statements of the same currency.

Students and newcomers

International students and newcomers to Canada are often asked for statements as proof of funds or for a rental. The Monthly sheet lists, for each month, the money in, the money out and the balance at month end; Insights adds the largest deposits, such as transfers from family abroad, which you may be asked to explain.

Last tested October 2026. StatementEasy is not affiliated with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).
