Desjardins statements are in French: Date, Code, Description, Retrait, Dépôt and Solde, starting from the Solde reporté. Amounts are written the French way — 1 234,56, with a space between thousands and a decimal comma — and dates use French months (05 mars). Paste that into an English Excel and none of it adds up. StatementEasy reads the amounts as numbers, the dates as real dates with their year, keeps the transaction code with the description and checks every balance.

Taxes in Quebec

For your federal and Quebec returns, convert January to December together and use the Categories sheet to total expenses, rent or self-employment income. Export QBO for QuickBooks, or CSV for other software.

National Bank statements

National Bank (Banque Nationale) statements use bilingual titles — Retraits / Withdrawals, Dépôts / Deposits, Solde / Balance — and French number formats too. They are read by the same rules.
