Pakistani statements often show two dates per row — the transaction or post date and the value date — mark balances Cr or Dr, and list IBFT, Raast and bill payments with long references. StatementEasy keeps both dates, reads Cr and Dr balances as signed numbers and checks every balance from the opening balance on.
Banks
Six Pakistani banks are tested on their real statement layouts: HBL, Meezan Bank, UBL and MCB Bank, as well as Bank Alfalah and Allied Bank. Other banks are read by the generic reader; the balance check shows whether every line was read. If yours is not, tell us the bank.

Islamic banking and profit
Islamic banks such as Meezan pay profit instead of interest on savings. It appears as a credit; filter for it or use the Categories sheet to get the yearly figure you declare to FBR.
What Pakistan statements are used for
- FBR tax returns — the tax year runs from 1 July to 30 June; total income, profit on savings and withholding tax in the Categories sheet.
- Visa and loan applications — the Monthly sheet lists each month’s closing balance; Insights the large deposits and home remittances.
- Sharing safely — choose “Account numbers: Hide” to mask IBANs and account numbers before you send the file.
Questions
Are Cr and Dr balances read correctly?
Yes. Cr is money in the account, Dr an overdrawn balance; they become positive and negative numbers.
Can I hide my IBAN?
Yes. Choose “Account numbers: Hide” before you download.
Can I convert an Urdu or bilingual statement?
The money columns, dates and balances are read from their position and format, so bilingual headers do not stop the reader; the balance check on your file shows whether every row was found.
