Indian statements are long: a busy month can hold hundreds of UPI payments, each with a narration that runs over two lines. Amounts use lakh grouping (1,25,000.00), balances often end in Cr or Dr, and the PDF that arrives by email is usually password-protected. StatementEasy handles all of this and checks every row against the running balance, so a single misread line in a long statement is pointed out before you export.

Banks

Thirteen Indian banks are tested on their real statement layouts: SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak, PNB, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, IDFC FIRST, YES BANK, IndusInd and Indian Bank (with the former Allahabad Bank). Other banks are read by the generic reader, which handles most Indian layouts with debit, credit and balance columns. The balance check shows whether every row was read; if not, tell us the bank.

Password-protected statements

Emailed statements are usually locked with a password built from your details — often part of your name and your date of birth, or your customer ID. The email explains the format. Drop the PDF and type the password when asked: it is used in your browser to open the file. See how to find the password.

What Indian statements are used for

  • Income tax return (ITR) — interest, rent and freelance receipts found and totalled from a year of credits; the Categories sheet groups them.
  • GST and bookkeeping — export to CSV or QBO for your accounting software, or reconcile with your books.
  • Loans — lenders often ask for six months of statements; the Insights tab shows monthly income, EMIs and large credits.
  • Visas — the monthly closing balance at a glance; see what consulates check.

Questions

Does it work with SBI or HDFC statements?

Yes. Both layouts are tested, including SBI’s two-line column titles and HDFC’s statement summary at the end. The balance check on your own file shows at once whether every transaction was found.

My statement has hundreds of UPI transactions. Is that a problem?

No. Long statements are read the same way, and the row-by-row balance check is exactly what makes them safe to use.

Is my statement uploaded?

Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server and deleted after reading. A statement we still cannot read is kept encrypted for up to 14 days so we can add support for it.
