Westpac statement to Excel
Turn your Westpac statement into a spreadsheet: day-first dates, debits and credits as numbers, every balance checked.
- Checked every row against your balance
- Private read on your device first
- Excel & CSV plus QuickBooks, Xero and Quicken files
- Free no sign-up, no page limits
Westpac statements show Date, Transaction Description, Debit, Credit and Balance, with dates written 05/03/25 — day first, two-digit year — and an OPENING BALANCE line at the top. Descriptions start with the kind of payment: EFTPOS PURCHASE, BPAY, WITHDRAWAL ONLINE, DEPOSIT ONLINE. StatementEasy reads the dates the Australian way, keeps each description whole and checks every balance.

Westpac columns in your sheet
| On the Westpac statement | In your sheet |
|---|---|
| 05/03/25 | 2025-03-05 (day first) |
| Debit | Money out |
| Credit | Money in |
| Balance | Checked on every row |
| OPENING BALANCE | Start of the check, not a row |
BPAY bills and direct debits
Filter the description for BPAY to list every bill you paid — electricity, water, council rates, insurance — or open Recurring, which finds the payments that repeat each month with their usual amount. It is a quick way to build a household budget or check a bill before a rental application.
For your tax return
Convert the statements covering 1 July to 30 June together, then use the Categories sheet to total deductible expenses or income. Export Xero CSV or plain CSV for your accountant or bookkeeping software.
Several Westpac accounts
If you have a Westpac Choice everyday account and a savings account, convert both statements: transfers between them appear on each, and the File column in the combined sheet shows which account each row comes from.

Questions
My dates are written 05/03/25. Will they be read as May 3?
No. Westpac prints dates day first, and they are read that way: 5 March 2025.
Does it work with Westpac business statements?
Business statements with Debit, Credit and Balance columns are read the same way; the balance check confirms the result.
Can I combine several statements?
Yes. Drop the PDFs together and choose “All files combined”.
Is my statement uploaded?
Your browser reads the PDF first. Only if it cannot is the file read on our server, and deleted after reading.
Is StatementEasy made by Westpac?
No. StatementEasy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Westpac Banking Corporation.
