French bank statements to Excel

Most French statements print no balance after each line: one balance at the start, one at the end, short dates without the year (05.03) and amounts written 1 234,56. StatementEasy gives each date its year from the period, reads the amounts as numbers, keeps the value date and checks that debits and credits lead from the first balance to the last.

Banks

Eight French banks are tested on their statement layouts: BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Crédit Agricole, La Banque Postale, BoursoBank, as well as LCL, Crédit Mutuel and Qonto. Other banks are read by the generic reader; the totals check shows whether every line was read. If yours is not, tell us the bank.

Bank by bank

• BNP Paribas — date and value date as 05.03, framed by two SOLDE CREDITEUR lines.
• Société Générale — Date, Valeur and Nature de l’opération, from SOLDE PRÉCÉDENT to NOUVEAU SOLDE.
• Crédit Agricole — the same model in every regional bank, with old and new balance lines.
• La Banque Postale — the CCP statement in euros, dates as 05/03.
• BoursoBank — the only one here with a balance on every line, so each row is checked.
• Qonto — the business account prints one signed Montant column and a balance.

What French statements are used for

Bookkeeping (OFX, QIF or CSV for your software), mortgage applications (usually the last three statements) and household budgets.
