Health insurance premiums
Basic health insurance is compulsory in Switzerland and premiums leave your account every month. The Recurring sheet shows what your Krankenkasse or assurance maladie costs over the year, useful when you compare insurers in the autumn.
Pillar 3a contributions
Payments into a pillar 3a account are deductible from taxable income up to a yearly limit. Search your converted statements for the 3a transfers and you have the total for your return in seconds.
What a statement cannot replace
Swiss landlords usually ask for a debt-collection extract (Betreibungsauszug) and payslips rather than bank statements. A converted statement is still the quickest way to show your own budget, but it does not replace that official extract.
