Maltese banks tested on their statement layouts
For a tax return, a home loan, a residence permit, a rental contract or your accountant, you often only have the PDF statement. StatementEasy converts it to Excel, CSV, CAMT.053, MT940, Xero or QuickBooks files and checks every balance.
Maltese statements come in English with euro amounts, but each bank lays them out differently: value dates at BOV, Paid out and Paid in at HSBC, one signed amount at APS, cheque numbers at Lombard.

Bank of Valletta adds a value date; HSBC Malta uses Paid out and Paid in; APS prints one signed amount with dotted dates; BNF uses Debit and Credit; Lombard keeps a cheque number column; MeDirect uses Money out and Money in. In your sheet each becomes date, description, money out, money in and balance.

Residence and work permits
Identità and employers may ask for proof of income or funds. The Monthly sheet shows income, spending and the month-end balance in one table; hide account numbers before you share it.
Renting in Malta
Rent is often paid by transfer or cheque. Filter the sheet for your landlord’s name and you have a year of rent payments, useful if you claim the rent subsidy or a tax deduction.
