Cameroon uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF), without cents. Amounts are written 1 250 000 or, on English statements, 1,250,000.

StatementEasy reads each style in full and checks balances or totals, in French and English statements alike.

Banks

Eight Cameroonian banks are tested on their statement layouts: Afriland First Bank, BICEC, SCB Cameroun, Ecobank Cameroun, UBA Cameroun, as well as Société Générale Cameroun, CCA-Bank and Commercial Bank Cameroon. If yours is not read, tell us the bank.

A bilingual country, bilingual statements

Cameroon is officially French- and English-speaking, and banks print statements in either language — Ecobank and UBA mostly in English, BICEC and SCB in French. Both are read, and the sheet’s columns follow the page language.

Who converts Cameroonian statements

Visa applicants, borrowers, small businesses and accountants, and the diaspora sending money home.
