Eight Portuguese banks are tested on their statement layouts: Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Millennium bcp, novobanco, BPI, Santander Totta, as well as Crédito Agrícola, ActivoBank and Banco Montepio. Others are read by the generic reader. If yours is not, tell us the bank.

How money moves in Portugal
Most everyday payments go through the Multibanco network: card payments, ATM withdrawals, service payments with an entity and reference, and MB WAY transfers by phone number. Utilities and telecoms are usually paid by direct debit.
That makes a Portuguese statement easy to analyse once it is in a sheet: filter by “MB WAY”, by “DD” or by a creditor’s name and you have the total.
