Peruvian banks tested on their statement layouts
Each Peruvian bank writes its statement differently: BCP uses compact dates like 05MAR, Interbank puts the sol sign before every amount (-S/45.90), and BanBif prints no balance per line.
StatementEasy recognises each layout, completes the dates, removes the S/ and checks every balance.
Banks
Eight Peruvian banks and cajas are tested on their statement layouts: BCP, BBVA Perú, Interbank, Scotiabank Perú, BanBif, as well as Mibanco, Caja Arequipa and Banco Pichincha. If yours is not read, tell us the bank.
Peruvian statement words, in English
- estado de cuenta — account statement
- cargo / abono — debit / credit
- haberes — salary
- Yape / Plin — mobile transfer apps linked to bank accounts
- S/ — the Peruvian sol
- caja municipal — a municipal savings and credit bank
- fecha valor — value date
How money moves in Peru
Yape and Plin have made phone-number transfers the norm, so statements are full of small transfers alongside salary credits and bill payments. Filtering by “YAPE” totals them for any month.
