In Ghana a bank statement is asked for everywhere: by embassies for a visa, by landlords before you rent, by lenders, by the Ghana Revenue Authority and by your own accountant. Most banks send a PDF that is easy to read but hard to work with. StatementEasy turns it into Excel, CSV, OFX or QuickBooks files and checks every running balance, so you can trust the numbers.

Ghanaian statements use their own banking words, Lodgements for deposits, Narration for the description, Balance B/F for the opening balance, and balances followed by Cr or Dr. The converter knows them all.

Banks

Detailed pages: GCB Bank, Ecobank Ghana, Stanbic Bank Ghana, Absa Bank Ghana, Fidelity Bank Ghana, CalBank, Zenith Bank Ghana, Access Bank Ghana, Standard Chartered Ghana, MTN MoMo.

Ten layouts, one result

GCB prints a Post Date and a Value Date; Ecobank adds a reference column; Stanbic writes amounts with GH₵; Absa uses one signed Amount; Fidelity says Withdrawals and Lodgements; CalBank keeps a Cheque No; Zenith often prints newest first; Access marks balances Cr or Dr; Standard Chartered puts deposits before withdrawals; MoMo adds the time and a transaction ID. In your sheet they all become Date, Description, Money out, Money in and Balance.

Statements for embassies

Visa applications for the UK, the US, Canada and the Schengen countries usually require three to six months of statements, sometimes stamped by the branch. Before you submit, convert them: the Monthly sheet shows income, spending and the balance at each month end, which is exactly what a visa officer reads, and large lodgements stand out so you can explain them in your cover letter.

Mobile money and bank together

Most Ghanaians use both a bank account and a MoMo wallet. Convert both statements and drop them together: “All files combined” gives one sheet with a File column, and every balance is still checked within its own statement.

Cedis, GH₵ and GHS

Amounts written GH₵1,234.56, GHS 1,234.56 or 1,234.56 are read the same way: the sign is removed, every digit and both decimals are kept.

Questions

Is a branch-stamped statement better?

For the embassy, follow what they ask. For your own checks, a downloaded PDF converts more cleanly than a scan.

Can I combine statements from two banks?

Yes, each balance is checked within its own account.

Do you support Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money?

Not tested yet; send us a statement and we will add the layout.

Is my statement uploaded?

Your browser reads the PDF first, on your device. Only if it cannot read it is the file read on our server, and deleted right after.
